Lili movie released by MGM in USA in 1952. Original issue vintage movie poster 11×14 Lobby Cards, set of 8, each captioned, National Screen Service/NSS# 52/437. Professionally displayed in theatres then stored for decades, now available for private ownership. Used but in Fine condition. An orphaned French girl (Leslie Caron) with a sunny disposition joins a carnival, makes friends with four cute puppet characters and, through them, develops an emotional relationship with the lonely puppeteer. Heart-warming and charming Hollywood classic earned an Academy Award for Best Original Score and earned Leslie Caron a nomination for her performance. Provenance – purchased 1980s from a travelling salesman whose friends bought a building in Los Angeles and discovered a trove of vintage movie posters which had been used for display.
Set of 8 Lobby Cards, each captioned as follows –
1: Lili (Leslie Caron) in a delightful bit of byplay with two of the charming puppets used in her act — Carrot-Top and Marguerite.
2: Marc, the carnival magician (Jean Pierre Aument) uses the assistance of the beautiful Rosalie (Zsa Zsa Gabor) for his magic act.
3: The irresistable charm of Marc (Jean Pierre Aumont), the handsome carnival magician, captures the heart of delightful but naïve Lili (Leslie Caron).
4: Rosalie (Zsa Zsa Gabor) sarcastically tells the lovesick Lili (Leslie Caron) that Marc the magician cares only for her.
5: A dream sequence “Puppet Ballet” danced by Lili (Leslie Caron) and her puppet friends provides a delightful Technicolor treat.
6: Paul (Mel Ferrer), who has used his puppets to express his love for Lili (Leslie Caron), finds the task difficult in person
7: Tempers flare between love rivals, Lili (Leslie Caron) and Rosalie (Zsa Zsa Gabor), as Paul (Mel Ferrer) and Jacquot (Kurt Kaszner), look on interestedly.
8: Lili (Leslie Caron) realizes that she loves Paul (Mel Ferrer) and the cute puppets look on approvingly.
