From 1904 to 1930, Edward Curtis dedicated his life to documenting with pen and camera the faces and culture of over 80 tribes in North America. This is a compilation of 175 magnificent photographs, many of them reproduced for the first time and made directly from Curtis’ own glass-plate negatives and original plates and selected by his daughter, Florence, who collaborated with Victor Boesen to give a detailed biography of Curtis’s life and work. The book also includes a memoir of Curtis by his son, Harold.
