Our History

About Us – Our History

What began in 1969 as a small art and frame shop has evolved into an online destination where collectors, nostalgia lovers and first-time decorators alike can discover one-of-a-kind prints, posters and illustrated art books you won’t find anywhere else.
In 2014, after 45 years of serving Vancouver with framing and design, our brick-and-mortar store closes. Kerrisdale Gallery Framing concludes all in-house framing services and moves our remaining treasures online.
We focus exclusively on offering our hand-selected inventory: original prints, posters and a growing library of beautifully illustrated art books. New arrivals from our private collection appear periodically, so check back often for rare finds.

What makes us different:
– Rare & out-of-print prints, original and limited-edition works and vintage posters
– Illustrated art books covering iconic artists, movements and design eras
– Free local delivery within Vancouver, plus global shipping
– Local in-home or on-site preview visits to ensure each piece fits your space
– Ongoing additions drawn from our private collection

Scenes of 1970s Vancouver – Lion’s Gate Bridge, Haida Longhouse at the Museum of Anthropology, Planetarium (H.R. MacMillan Space Centre). The famous Crab sculpture in front, a 20 ft high stainless steel fountain sculpture completed in 1968, is by George A. Norris, our neighbour back then.
